Swine flu is spreading fast across Pakistan, with at least 10 new cases in Multan. Last month, more than 30 cases of swine flu were reported at a private hospital in Karachi. Since the deadly virus is contagious, patients as well as their family members are advised to wear face masks.
The healthcare sector of the country is in shambles. It is shameful that only one private medical institution in Karachi has equipment for the diagnosis of the virus. The healthcare authorities must look into the matter and take immediate action to tackle the problem.
